Vision Correction without Surgery is a Reality
Have you ever wished you could have laser vision correction, but were unable to because of cost or fear of going under the knife?
What if I told you that there is a non-surgical alternative available that would free you from your eyeglasses or contact lenses during the daytime. Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) is a technology that uses contact
lenses to gently reshape the front surface of your eyes while you
sleep. Upon waking, you actually remove the lenses and go about your
day.
If you have trouble with contact lenses being uncomfortable or you don’t like to wear glasses, you may be able to use this technology overnight and be free of eyewear during the daytime.
CRT is much less expensive than laser vision correction with the advantage of being completely reversible. The recommended minimum age for correction is 8 year old and up. It’s a great option for swimmers or athletes when contact lenses may not be practical or for anyone who would prefer not to wear glasses or contact lenses.
Here’s how it works: After your eye exam, I make a map of the front surface of your eye and order a customized lens for you to wear overnight. While you sleep, the lens gently reshapes the front surface of the eye. When you wake up, you remove the lens and the eye retains its new shape for the remainder of the day. You continue to use the contact lenses overnight much the way you would use a retainer after wearing braces for your teeth.
We can correct those who are mildly to moderately nearsighted even if they have mild astigmatism, however, those who are farsighted will not benefit from this type of correction.
Schedule your appointment with us today. There is no additional charge to find out whether you are a CRT candidate and the lenses are completely refundable within the 90 day trial period.
